World Creation

This fantasy world is called 'Lythian'. Lythian is the name of the long and proud clan of the blue dragons. The dragons have always existed in our world but because of the dragon slaughter in the middle ages, the dragon are now taking human form in order to survive. They are hiding in plain sight. The reason for the hunting was because their abilities. An old legend goes like this

"Drink the blood of a Dragon
and thy wound shall heal
Eat the heart of a Dragon
and thee shall live forever"

The dragons are an ancient race and they were on the earth way before the humans. The dragons are split into three kinds; the blue ones, the red ones and the yellow ones. These are the primary dragons. And within each of them there is a clan. Family clans that are almost like royalty. The clans are the Lythian of the blues, the Hydarian of the reds and the Gudrosil of the yellows. Mixed offspring is not seen very often but they do occur. Molly is the offspring of one in the Lythian clan and the Gudrosil clan.

The alpha or king is not like the human way. The alpha lives on the sanctuary where he protects the Great Oak. The alpha is chosen by the Great Oak and when he is, the right to find a mate and reproduces is taken away. Protecting the Great Oak is his only duty, and this is why the alpha grows much larger than the other dragons.  

The Great Oak is what keeps the sanctuary in the air and protected from outsiders. The soul that rests deep under its roots is what makes it so strong but it is also its weak point. If taken or corrupted the sanctuary will fall and the dragons will lose the magic that gives them the power of taking the human form.

The dragons are still hunted today and the hunters have a weapon. The seeker stone, or reveal stone. It can reveal a dragon that has taken the form of a human. The myth says that the seeker stone was once part of the soul of the great oak and that is way it can reveal dragons.
